Testimonials
"We're a little unconventional and wanted a celebrant to reflect this. Roger clicked into our personalities straight away and made the ceremony wonderfully memorable, with the right mix of character, humour, reverence and a vibrant sense of celebration."

"I would love to thank you for the beautifully and professionally conducted ceremony you performed for us even though it was not clear to us how to go about it and the last minute - mid ceremony change to add a bit of Chinese culture to the proceedings. Your flexibility was amazing and the whole proceeding went very smoothly with love and warmth. Thanks very much Roger."

"I have known Roger for some time now, and have found him to be a very reliable and caring person. I guess its part of his ministerial work, and I do commend him for the work that he does, because it could be demanding at times. I have had the pleasure of working alongside Roger at different times, and have seen the caring and supportive person that he is. Ma te wa."

"In February 2008 I got married Roger Pym assisted the Right Reverend Te Kitohi Pikaahu, Bishop of Te Taitokerau, Anglican Church. My wedding was an all-inclusive affair, my husband and his family are Catholic, my family is Anglican, the service was conducted bilingually at a Marae, we included a baptismal component to the service, we had 700 guests attend of which Roger initially was one. The night before the wedding, one of the other ministers organised to assist was not able to; I approached Roger to ask if he would step into the fray of which he readily agreed.
Stepping into the fray and being open to everything is one of the many, many attributes that Roger possesses. He welcomes and encourages people when planning their occasions to make the moment uniquely their own. During the lead up to my wedding, I would share ideas about the service with Roger, his counsel was supportive and sound, Roger also provided some gentle guidance to both my husband and I on the strength of relationships.
Roger has been a part of my life and indeed a part of my family, for the last twenty years. His participation in my wedding added to the specialness and uniqueness of the day." No reira he tangata tino humarie, he tangata rangimarie. Nga mihi -

I have known Reverend Roger Pym for some years. I am impressed with his pastoral skills and also his planning abilities and facilitation skills when he conducts celebrations.
The ceremonies that I have attended when Roger is officiating, have been very memorable occasions, because Roger introduces a unique element of originality and warmth in whatever type of service he is conducting ... be it a Naming, Civil Union, Wedding, Funeral, or As president of Canoe of Souls Unitarian Church, I can say that we are indeed lucky to have Rev. Roger Pym as our Minister.

I have known Roger for many years now in various capacities; fellow student, friend and flatmate and in this time, I have found him to be a wonderful, warm, caring and funny person.
This is probably why, when I discovered, after a period of non-contact with each other, that he had become a marriage celebrant, I asked him to officiate over my wedding recently. Both my husband Steve and I are so glad I did because he did a wonderful job. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend him to others who are planning a celebration and need a celebrant.
